Strange Landscapes

Landscapes without end, droves of sand, solitary rocks. The dystopian photography of Allison Davies captures the seemingly extraterrestrial a lot closer to home in her series of photographs featured in her debut collaboration with Charles Lane Press, Outerland.

A modern, narrative take on landscape photography, Outerland lets the reader interpret the scene as they will, leading them with a space-like prop here, an astronaut-like suit there. It doesn’t take much, proof that Earth’s natural landscapes are strange enough within the context of the cosmos.

Thank Davies for saving us a trip to Mars.
