Located on an empty stretch of sand off of the East China Sea, Vector Architects' thoroughly modern library is the stuff of literary and architectural dreams. Made using a pretty stellar combination of cast-concrete and wood, the space feels warm enough to want to stay in and read those books you've avoided since you were 10, but cool enough to make it not really feel like you're in a library at all. It’s uncluttered, clean, organized, and, given its remote location, will probably stay pretty under-trafficked. So the next time you’re thinking of taking a surfing/reading trip, well, you know where to go.
